The eleventh week of the Diary starts.........

 

March 8th, Sunday
Dear Diary:
It has been snowing today. Because it was so cold and bad Dad didn't take Beulah to Dalton. Mother went down to Dany's awhile and even if it is Sunday, we have been piecing quilts. Mr. Guy Kirkwood has been here a few minutes. It is so cold and the wind is blowing.

March 9th, Monday
Dear Diary:
I got out of bed this morning and the Sun was shinning. I am at Dalton now. Dad brought Beulah and me this morning. Adeline and Gorden have just come in from school. I have been drawing the U. S. map for Gorden. I don't know if I will get home sick or not.


March 10th, Tuesday
Dear Diary:
I came to school with Adeline and Beulah this morning. I am already getting kindly tired setting around in the class rooms. "Just don't know what to do." Of course I've not got acquainted yet. It is pretty cold now. Adeline, Beulah and I are going to the school house tonight to pratice on a play.

March 11th, Wednesday
Dear Diary:
I am at school today and having a better time. I wrote a letter to Mother and Dad and sent it by Benson this afternoon. Beulah and I are going back to the school house again tonight. They didn't get to pratice last night on the play because hardly anyone came.

March 12, Thursday
Dear Diary:
I have been with Carmon and Izerra Dockrey today. My eyes have been hurting me. Every one was at the school house last night that was in the play but they dicided to drop it. I have been with Virginia Utley part of the day. I have enjoyed today.

March 13th, Friday
Dear Diary:
I came to school again this morning but left right after dinner to get my things together for I am going home this afternoon as Mr. and Mrs John Adams goes to Madisonville. Mr. Adams is Principal at Dalton. Mr. and Mrs. Brown are nice people. Its 5 o'clock P. M. now and I am at home. Aunt Cynthia and Mrs. Betty are staying with us.

March 14, Saturday
Dear Diary:
Mother said some one skinned one of Dad's pigs while I was gone. A couple of blocks of his hay was missing too. Mrs. Mathews came yesterday and brought up some parsnips which Mother is cooking for dinner, I went down to Ruby Dockery a few minutes after dinner to borrow a couple of book. Ford, Magaline and the children came awhile ago. The children are going to stay all night with me. Francis and Dorothy Cecil came awhile this afternoon.
